About The Position

The Triage Associate will review and address new patient referrals for both Psychiatry and Psychology. Will perform chart review screenings, provide recommendations for appropriate services and schedule new patients referred to the department. Will review incoming online scheduling requests for existing counseling patients to ensure that patients are being seen in alignment with their treatment plan. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Related Field
  • 1+ years of experience in triage services
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of personalities at various organizational levels.
  • Familiarity working with an EMR.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a clinical setting.
  • Familiarity with different types of behavioral health services and resources.

Responsibilities

  • Processes incoming referrals to the department by screening relevant information in the patient's chart and determining appropriate treatment disposition
  • Schedules patients with the appropriate providers
  • Provides referrals to treatment outside of the department as needed
  • Maintains confidentiality as specified under HIPAA, the Illinois Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code and the Illinois Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Confidentiality Act
  • Documents accurately and completely int he medical record
