About The Position

The Trevecca Urban Farm is a program of the Center for Social Justice at Trevecca Nazarene University. The Farm exists to teach and inspire neighbors to steward nature responsibly and grow their own food. We want to create food sources that give health to our bodies and create well-being for the soil, air, water, and wildlife in our city. -The Trevecca Urban Farm internship gives students the opportunity to do engaging, meaningful, physical work as they learn how to care for gardens, trees, nature trails, and animals (chickens, ducks, pigs, and goats) on our campus farm. In addition to practicing farming and environmental care and earning a Permaculture Design Certification, interns will learn about the impacts of industrial agriculture, climate change, and related ecological issues, and what can be done about it on both a personal and global scale.
