About The Position

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Mechanic to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of tree service vehicles and equipment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of both gas and diesel-powered equipment used for client services. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience working on a variety of equipment and machinery, including skid-loaders, chippers, and other tree care equipment. This role is vital to keeping our operations running smoothly and minimizing downtime.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a mechanic, with at least 2-4 years in equipment and small engibe repair, preferably in the tree service, or landscaping industries.
  • Must be able to ensure all maintenance work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques for both vehicles and equipment.
  • Ability to work closely with the operations team to schedule equipment repairs to minimize downtime and maintain workflow.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair work on tree service equipment, including skid-loaders, chippers, stump grinders, and other equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations, and fluid replacements.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues, identify problems, and perform repairs to ensure vehicles and equipment are safe and operational.
  • Conduct regular inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
  • Maintain and repair specialized tree care equipment, such as chippers, aerial lifts, chainsaws, and other tools used on job sites.
  • Keep track of necessary parts, tools, and supplies, and ensure they are readily available for repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed on vehicles and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
