Job Summary The Senior Manager of Estimating is responsible for overseeing estimating operations by ensuring accurate capacity planning, workflow optimization, and continuous skill development. This role involves coordinating across regional and national teams to balance workloads, identify training needs, and leverage data analytics for strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline.
  • Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field.
  • May require certification.
  • Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience estimating and projecting for budgeting.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of highly technical waterworks projects.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles.

Responsibilities

  • Capacity & Workflow Management Coordinate with regional teams to assess estimating needs and available capacity.
  • Direct workflow across regions to balance workloads and meet project deadlines.
  • Training & Development Identify skill gaps and training needs within regional/national estimating teams.
  • Develop and recommend continuing education programs to enhance estimator knowledge and proficiency.
  • Data Review & Resource Allocation Review and analyze data in Power BI to ensure equitable distribution of work and identify needs.
  • Provide insight to leadership for resource optimization and capacity planning.
  • Collaboration & Communication Serve as a liaison between regional teams and leadership to ensure alignment of goals and priorities.
  • Communicate updates, best practices, and performance metrics effectively across regions.
