About The Position

Performs responsible technical, administrative, and supervisory work involving Water Reclamation Facility operations. Responsible for 24-hour/day operation and ensuring that the treatment plant produces the highest quality products in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Considerable initiative and independent judgment are required to ensure continuous effective, efficient, and safe wastewater treatment. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Treatment Plant Manager and reviewed through conferences, reports submitted, and results obtained.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and at least two (2) years of experience operating a wastewater treatment plant similar in process and size to the City of Orlando's facilities, some of which must have been in a supervisory/managerial capacity; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid Florida Driver's License required.
• Current State of Florida Wastewater Operator "A" Certificate for wastewater treatment required.
• Must possess a cell phone or home phone, or be able to be contacted in case of an emergency work situation.
• Some positions may be required to pass an annual respirator physical; no facial hair allowed between the face and sealing surface of the respirator face plate.
