About The Position
Under supervision, performs cleaning work in treatment plants; maintains treatment plant grounds; drives a vehicle to run errands; and performs related work as required.
Responsibilities
- Sweeps, cleans, dusts and maintains floors
- Cleans rest rooms and fixtures
- Empties waste baskets
- Washes windows and walls
- Cleans mechanical equipment, pumps, compressors, electrical equipment, plant units, and performs routine plant cleaning work
- Maintains custodial supplies
- Waters grass and maintains plant grounds
- Operates mowing and cleaning equipment
- Sweeps walks and other surfaces
- Removes snow and ice
- Digs ditches and trenches
- Loads and unloads chemicals, equipment and supplies
- Runs errands as required
- May occasionally do the work of an Apprentice Plant Operator
- May occasionally assist plant trades persons
- Performs related work as required or as delegated by supervisor
