At least two years experience as a wastewater treatment operator.
High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
Should thoroughly understand the plant process and equipment.
Operators shall be familiar with recording, record keeping, and reporting procedures.
Must be capable of following both oral and written instructions and be capable of giving both oral and written instructions.
Must know how to operate a variety of hand and power tools and possess a good mechanical background.
Must be capable of working independently, work well with others, and know how to use a personal computer and have general knowledge of data acquisition equipment.
Must be available for scheduled overtime on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
The position requires the delivery of a full range of wastewater services to the school district.
Several hours a day will be spent walking, standing, sitting, and climbing whenever necessary.
Activities include frequent physical exertion in body movement such as reaching, bending, and twisting.
This position also requires frequent pulling and pushing of materials.
There is frequent use of hand and power tools.
Occasionally, crawling may be necessary.
The position requires lifting of objects of 50 pounds on a frequent basis and over 50 pounds occasionally.
The occupant is required frequently to work outdoors, occasionally in extreme weather conditions such as rain, snow, and hot/cold extremes.
He/she is also exposed to gasoline and/or diesel fumes, chemicals.
Frequently exposed to noxious smells and high noise levels.
The occupant is expected to have foul weather gear, rubber gloves, steel toe protection when necessary.

At least three years of experience as a waste water treatment plant operator or equivalent.
Bachelors of Science in Environmental, Biology, Chemical, Sanitary or Civil Engineering.
Shall routinely operate, perform, and thoroughly understand the plan processes and equipment and be capable of making adjustments as necessary to ensure compliance of the Plant’s D.E.P. permit.
When necessary shall carry out maintenance, adjustments and repairs of various plant equipment.
Shall routinely perform and thoroughly understand laboratory tests and procedures.
Must follow all applicable safety practices.
Must maintain required Training Contact Hours (TCH’s).
Performs all other duties contained in the back-up wastewater treatment plant operator, custodian, outside maintenance, and maintenance job descriptions.
Other related duties as may be assigned by the Head Custodian and the Supervisor of Buildings, Grounds, and Maintenance.
