Requirements

  • Active RN license required.

Responsibilities

  • Personally participates in the evaluation and delivery of care including medication administration, treatments, ADL care, etc. as ordered by physician and outlined in the plan of care (according to scope of practice)
  • Conduct regular rounds to monitor resident activity and ensure resident/ patients receive quality care based on professional standards and facility policies
  • Evaluate residents physical and psychosocial status
  • Communicate with residents, family members, physicians and supervisor regarding resident status.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate medical records during tour of duty on assigned unit.
  • Coordinate and prepare for new admissions, transfers, discharge of residents
  • Transcribe physician orders
  • Assist in updating the plan of care that addresses the needs of the residents/ patients
  • Complete incident/ accident reports
  • Understands, complies with and promotes all rules regarding resident rights
  • Maintain safe and clean work area
  • Ensures proper storage of equipment and supplies
  • Ensure Infection prevention and control practices are followed on assigned unit
  • Report hazardous conditions, incidents and accidents, and allegations to supervisor
  • Attend orientation and in-services
  • Assist in orientation and training
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned or designate
