About The Position

Northwestern Bank, a locally owned community bank and proud member of the greater Chippewa Valley community since 1904 is currently seeking a full-time Treasury Management Officer. This position will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, selling and supporting cash management products and services to established business customers and prospective corporate clients. They will work closely with other staff members to provide excellent customer service and ensure the needs of our customers are met in a timely manner. Job responsibilities include visiting and building relationships with customers and prospective customers, providing superior customer service when assisting customers in their day-to-day banking needs, researching, implementing, educating and training applicable personnel on new products and services, overseeing and managing department staff members including conducting performance appraisals, interviewing, hiring, etc., actively serving on organization and community boards, committees, and participating in other volunteer opportunities. Requirements

  • At least an associate's degree with 5 years of previous experience in business deposits.
  • Applicants must also have a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Reinforces the application of superior customer service through his or her own example along with appropriate follow-through with involved customers and employees and conducts specific periodic meetings and presentations on this topic with all staff members.
  • Responsible for identifying, analyzing, selling and supporting cash management products and services to established business customers and targeted prospective corporate clients.
  • Engages in business development activities, identifies, analyzes, and sells cash management products and services to established business customers and targets prospective corporate clients.
  • Works closely with relationship officers in attaining service charge and deposit goals while solidifying customer retention efforts, identifies customer needs and offers customized solutions, develops cross sell opportunities within existing customer portfolio, and investigates and follows up on significant changes in status of existing customers.
  • Contributes to the Bank’s deposit growth strategies and goals, generates additional revenue from the sale of cash management products and services, and attains established individual, department, and Bank goals through active participation in sales management and officer call programs.
  • Responds to a Request for Proposal (RFP), assesses customer needs and recommends effective strategies, performs a cost benefit and risk analysis, and negotiates pricing to optimize profitability of product or service solutions.
  • Oversees the daily operations of all Treasury Management Department functions, takes ownership and ensures timely response and resolution of customer issues, ensures activities run smoothly and efficiently, maintains knowledge of internal resources to mitigate disruption of service to customers, communicates recurring or serious issues to Senior Management, recommends temporary work around and viable solutions to improve customer service and response, and performs direct supervisory duties of department staff and coordinates staff for coverage in all related areas.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of new cash management products and services, reviews existing cash management offerings for enhancements as a result of business goals, competitive pressures and revenue opportunities, conducts competitive market research and vendor due diligence, develops contracts, supports documentation and marketing materials, and trains Bank personnel.
  • Contributes to the overall profitability of the Bank through income generation and cash management marketing efforts.
  • Assures audit compliance and procedure quality control and recommends and initiates corrective actions and ensures the department follows established Bank policies, procedures and state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
  • Maintains a detailed tracking system that provides the Bank with a comprehensive list of cash management customers, including products and services utilized by this customer segment.
  • May serve on Bank committees as needed.
  • Actively involved in community events and organizations, including serving on various boards/committees.
  • Participates in the day-to-day operations for the department, reviews and acts on daily reports.
  • Maintains an advanced knowledge of financial industry status and trends.
  • Responds to inquiries or refers inquiries to the appropriate department or person.
  • Assists senior management in implementing cost controls for the department and monitors expenses to ensure compliance with budget.
  • Consistently applies superior decision making techniques pertaining to inquiries, approvals and requests as they apply to existing policies and procedures, keeping within assigned approval limits and using these instances as learning tools for employee development.
  • Assumes responsibility for special projects, gathers data, and prepares reports for Senior Management, audits and other personnel.
  • Plays a positive role in the development and growth of assigned department staff through excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong delegation skills assuring trained staff.
  • Performs personnel actions including performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and interviewing candidates for employment, and supervises the daily activities of the department including, but not limited to, effective delegation of assignments, developing work schedules and providing necessary training.
  • Processes, solves and answers complex customer transactions, problems or inquiries.
  • Treats people with respect, keeps commitments, inspires the trust of others, works ethically and with integrity, upholds organizational values, and accepts responsibility for own actions.
  • Assures compliance with all Bank policies, procedures and processes, and all applicable state and federal banking laws, rules and regulations, and adheres to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) responsibilities that are specific to the position.
  • Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time, supports the Bank’s goals and values, and benefits the Bank through outside activities.
  • Will participate in business activities and make client visits in the area to promote the Bank's depository program and to support the business industry.
