About The Position

NorthKey Community Care is seeking a full-time Traveling Medical Assistant to assist its medical staff in the care of patients in NorthKey's outpatient clinics in four of our clinics, including Williamstown, Carrollton, Pendelton County, and every Friday at our Covington location on Madison Avenue. General work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. Requirements

  • A high school diploma is required
  • Relevant knowledge, training, and experience

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with histories of mental health and/or substance use is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist medical staff (physicians and nurse practitioners) in the care of patients within a behavioral health outpatient setting.
  • Accurately assess the needs and issues of individual patients.
  • Complete quality documentation of services provided, including service plans, progress notes, medication-informed consent, treatment plan reviews, and other required information to ensure compliance with organizational policies and compliance standards.
  • Adhere to appropriate standards of care.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to promote quality patient care.
  • Perform patient histories, screenings, and risk factor assessments as indicated.
  • Handle medication orders and medications by following organizational policies and relevant state/federal regulations and standards.
  • Ensure appropriate communication with other internal and external professionals for effective delivery of quality patient care.
  • Adhere to confidentiality in all matters pertaining to client information
