Responsibilities

• Scrubbing, gowning, and gloving the surgical team, maintaining aseptic technique, and anticipating instrument and equipment needs.
• Assisting surgeons and perioperative staff by passing instruments, retractors, sutures, and supplies with precision and timing.
• Preparing the operating room, including equipment setup, instrument counts, and ensuring all safety checks are completed before incision.
• Supporting patient positioning and draping, maintaining documentation accuracy, and participating in turnover to ready the room for the next case.
• Collaborating with circulating nurses, anesthesia teams, and support staff to optimize efficiency, safety, and patient comfort.
• Staying current with sterile technique, device usage, and facility protocols to promote best practices and positive outcomes.
