We are seeking a Travel Security and Intelligence Lead to to work with the Global Security team. The role will be focused primarily on managing a travel risk management program ad providing oversight for the watch team, with ancillary duties providing geopolitical security risk projections and assessments, and coordination with the global security operations center. Candidates should have a minimum of ten years of experience in related areas, including intelligence analysis, business risk management analysis and forecasting, or general security or geopolitical intelligence analysis. Prior experience in the pharmaceutical sector is a preferred qualification, however not required. As a contractor assigned to Merck in this full-time position, you will be employed by Minuteman and enjoy a complete set of excellent health and retirement benefits. You will work at the Merck campus in Rahway, NJ. The role is responsible for providing ad hoc risk assessments for travel and meetings, but will also be responsible for managing programmatic aspects of the travel security program, including employee outreach, education, and training, corporate policy compliance, and coordination with and management of our travel security vendors. The position is also scoped to support incident response, including rapid response to major security incidents, coordination of traveler wellness checks, and support managing corporate travel restrictions. In this capacity, the individual will provide oversight, guidance, and will set performance guidelines for the team’s 24/7 watch function. The position and the larger team is charged with being a business enabler, supporting and advising the business as prudent on risk avoidance, but with a mindset of managing risks intelligently to ultimately advance the business’ goals. The candidate must excel at producing analytic products and support covering a wide spectrum of areas, from geopolitical security risk, to travel security, to business-focused risk intelligence, such as disruptions to supply chain or other operational areas. The role will team with the client's global security operations center to formalize risk intelligence collection requirements, and coach the team on escalation triggers. The ideal candidate would have impeccable networking and stakeholder engagement skills, with a reputation for building strong relationships, and delivering value to those stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong familiarity with security environments in multiple diverse regions globally, will have significant personal on-ground experience with the security landscapes in multiple foreign environments, and a network of contacts, security implementers and vendors working in travel security, to include in high risk environments.
