TRAVEL ASSIGNMENT OPPORTUNITIES Multiples Campuses Across the Network Shifts and Schedules Will Vary Inpatient Positions Typical Assignments are 13 weeks, (3) 12 hour shifts per week, 36 hours per week Minimum of 2 years of experience in a given specialty required. BLS required upon hire. ACLS and PALS as specialty indicates. The Travel Registered Nurse delivers nursing care for patients across their life span, and through the nursing process, assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, evaluates and documents the effects of care. Works cooperatively with ancillary, nursing and other patient-care personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice.

Requirements

  • C urrent Registered Nurse license in the State of New Jersey or Pennsylvania (based upon assignment location) required.
  • Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the desires specialty required.
  • Evidence of successful completion or completion of an approved Dysrhythmia Detection Course required.
  • BLS certification required upon hire, ACLS and PALS as indicated.
  • Successful completion of individualized orientation program.
  • Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs in depth, systematic assessment of all assigned patients
  • Formulates collaborative and individualized plan of care and identifies expected patient outcomes using the nursing process
  • Implements, evaluates and documents patient care interventions and effectiveness in accordance with care plan
  • Organizes, coordinates and prioritizes patient care consistently utilizing available resources
  • Demonstrates competence in and current knowledge in Medical/Surgical Telemetry Nursing
  • Demonstrates competency in and current knowledge of cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Appropriately utilizes assistive devices whenever appropriate to ensure safe patient handling. Utilizes proper body mechanics
  • Functions as a professional role model and resource person providing guidance to co­workers
  • Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated
  • Maintains responsibility for own professional development through active participation in in-services and/or continuing education programs.
