About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse Internal Traveler to work on an Intermediate Care unit for their Oncology Stepdown unit for a Temporary Full Time, 14-week assignment. This unit cares for patients with cancer in an inpatient, 36 bed Intermediate Care Unit. The hospital is looking for compassionate RNs to monitor physical conditions, prescribe medication, and administer chemotherapy and other treatments. The care delivered is dynamic and includes Chemotherapy, Hospice, Radiation, Stem Cell Transplants / CAR-T, Radioactive Iodine, and Symptom Management. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School. It is a recognized accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center and Magnet hospital for nursing excellence, specializing in heart and vascular, neurosciences, neurosurgery, urology, oncology, spine care, advanced imaging, behavioral health, maternity, and women’s health, including a state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care unit. Requirements

  • Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required
  • Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • ACLS
  • NIH Stroke Scale
  • 2 or more years of recent acute care hospital RN experience
