About The Position

This travel assignment is designed for skilled NICU professionals who want to shape outcomes for newborns while thriving within a supportive, career-empowering organization. Beginning 03/30/2026 for several weeks, you’ll work with a dedicated team to deliver advanced, high-stakes care to fragile infants. You’ll collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and families to stabilize and protect the youngest patients. While you focus on care, California’s diverse landscapes await on days off or weekends—from sunlit beaches to the Sierra Nevada foothills and vibrant Central Valley communities. The chance to expand your NICU expertise can come with you across the country as you extend your assignments. Bakersfield offers a growing medical community, affordable living, and access to outdoor recreation, parks, and family-friendly activities. The assignment also opens doors to working in other U.S. locations, exposing you to varied hospital cultures, patient populations, and clinical approaches. California’s natural beauty is a bonus, with coastal drives, redwoods, mountains, and wine country within reach for weekend exploration. This setting supports balance, resilience, and professional fulfillment as you advance in the NICU specialty. In this NICU RN role you’ll monitor critical neonates around the clock, manage ventilators and respiratory supports, operate incubators and bedside monitors, administer medications, and participate in rounds to align on care plans. You’ll provide family-centered education and support during stressful times, document care with accuracy, and respond quickly to changes in condition. The assignment offers clear pathways for growth within the NICU, including exposure to Level II/III settings, opportunities to strengthen respiratory support skills, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and pursue NICU-specific certifications that advance your practice. You’ll also benefit from cross-site experiences that broaden your clinical perspective while maintaining consistent standards. Compensation is competitive, with a weekly pay range of $1,960-$2,048. Hours are not guaranteed (guaranteed hours: 0.0), but you’ll have extension opportunities that let you secure future assignments if it’s a fit for you and the facility. Housing assistance or stipends help simplify relocation, and a sign-on bonus may be available depending on the assignment. You’ll receive comprehensive support from a dedicated travel team, including 24/7 assistance while you’re traveling, onboarding, credentialing help, and ongoing clinical resources to keep you confident as you move between care settings.
