Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for an ER Holding / Observation Unit assignment in Columbus, Ohio. This role supports patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge and focuses on monitoring, stabilization, and coordination of care in a fast-paced acute care setting. POSITION OVERVIEW This opportunity is ideal for nurses with strong emergency, observation, or acute care backgrounds who are comfortable managing changing patient conditions, prioritizing care, and working closely with ED and inpatient teams. ASSIGNMENT DETAILS • Contract Length: 13 weeks • Shift: Night shift, 3x12 • Schedule: Non-block • Patient Population: Adult and geriatric • Charting: Epic COMPENSATION • Weekly Gross: $2,071 • W-2 Hourly: $16.50 • Weekly Stipend Total: $1,477 • Housing Stipend: $131/week • Meals Stipend: $80/week
Requirements
- Active RN license REQUIRED
- Minimum 2 years of ER, ER Holding, Observation, or acute care experience REQUIRED
- Experience with telemetry and patient monitoring REQUIRED
- BLS REQUIRED
- Epic experience REQUIRED
- Ability to float within scope as needed REQUIRED
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills REQUIRED
Nice To Haves
- ACLS preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to ER Holding / Observation patients
- Perform ongoing assessments and monitoring
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and blood products as ordered
- Coordinate care with ED providers and inpatient teams
- Document care accurately in Epic
- Respond to patient condition changes and escalate as needed
