Travel Recreational/Activity Therapist Opportunity Assignment Details Specialty: Behavioral Health Location: Altru Hosptial in Grand Forks, ND Duration: 13 weeks Full-Time, 40 hours per week (5x8 schedule) Shift: day shift (example 8:00am-5:00pm) with weekend requirements Enhanced hourly rate, tax-exempt stipend where applicable Bi-weekly pay Opportunity for overtime Paid travel to/from assignment Who we are & where you can make a difference: Quality care is our passion; improving lives is our reward. Travel Therapist Responsibilities: Design and implement therapeutic activities for patients based on thorough assessment of patient's symptons, professional/referral input, and all other available data Evaluate and document patient repsonses to treatment and progress towards goals to develop recommendations for discharge and aftercare Conduct individual and/or group sessions in accordance with state/regulatory standards Provide appropriate education, resources, and support for patients before, during, and after treatment Provide high quality patient care, displaying good skills in assessment of patients' functional needs and outcomes; consulting with and participating as part of the patients' treatment team Complete and maintain all required documentation in a timely manner consistent with policies and regulations Assess patient needs regularly and assist in developing and updating the Master Treatment Plan Work within a team environment to ensure that each treatment modality is appropriate for the patient Provide group educational therapies to assigned patients consistent with established techniques and methods Why become a Travel Therapist with Horizon Health? Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Licensure/Certification: Certified Therapeutic Specialist with CTRS certification or may consider Music, Art, or Dance such as Registered Art Therapist, Certified Music Therapist
  • Experience: Two (2) or more years' experience providing activity therapy; prefer experience in a behavioral health/psych setting
