About The Position

As the Outpatient Behavioral Therapist, you will provide outpatient mental health/substance abuse counseling, therapy, and Employee Assistance Services. You will assess the patient’s emotional, social, and psychological needs and determine appropriate interventions. You will develop a treatment plan incorporating the patient’s identified needs and review the plan monthly to meet the ongoing mental health needs of the patient. You will provide crisis intervention and collaborate with other health care providers to assure coordinated care delivery and positive outcomes. You will develop and maintain a network of referral sources in the community including mental health, substance abuse, medical, social, financial, and legal resources. Requirements

  • Master’s in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology
  • Thorough knowledge of treatment modalities, interventions within their professional scope of practice with a commitment to working with adult and minor patients with mental health/ substance abuse and/or EAP needs
  • Ability to de-escalate crisis situations
  • Must have a clear understanding of trauma informed care and experience in using this approach in the outpatient practice setting
  • 1 year experience in setting treating patients with mental health concerns or post graduate work experience (internship) in a direct clinical setting
  • Licensed in the State of Michigan and/or Ohio to practice within their designated discipline (LSW, LPC, LLMSW, LLPC, LLP, LISW, LPCC, LMSW, or Licensed Psychologist)
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed in the State of Michigan and/or Ohio to practice within their designated discipline (LISW, LPCC, LMSW, or Licensed Psychologist)
  • For staff serving individuals for EAP services CEAP preferred (or willing to obtain 12 months of hire)
