About The Position

The Travel Project Manager is responsible for the oversight, coordination, and execution of all global travel and deployment activities supporting an IC program. This position ensures that all personnel movements are conducted in accordance with U.S. Government (USG) travel regulations, contract requirements, and internal quality standards. The Travel Project Manager provides operational leadership to the travel coordination team, maintains comprehensive tracking and reporting mechanisms, and ensures the accuracy and compliance of all travel-related documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Project Management, Operations, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5–8+ years of project management experience supporting complex or global operations.
  • Demonstrated experience with USG travel processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on SharePoint and Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data validation, reporting).
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Experience leading or supervising teams or cross‑functional workstreams.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end‑to‑end global travel and deployment process for all program personnel, ensuring timely and compliant execution.
  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership, guidance, and workload management for the travel coordination team.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for internal stakeholders, and government representatives regarding travel requirements, timelines, and operational status.
  • Interpret and apply USG travel regulations, including the Federal Travel Regulation (FTR), Fly America Act, and contract‑specific requirements.
  • Maintain, update, and ensure the accuracy of the program’s travel tracker, including version control and data integrity.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of all travel requests, itineraries, cost estimates, and supporting documentation prior to approval.
  • Develop, maintain, and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to travel, deployment, and redeployment processes.
  • Coordinate with Program Management, HR, and Security to ensure personnel meet all pre‑deployment requirements.
  • Prepare routine and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and briefings summarizing travel activity, upcoming deployments, and key performance indicators.
  • Resolve escalated travel issues, including urgent itinerary changes, cancellations, and mission‑critical adjustments.
  • Support internal and external audits by ensuring all travel documentation is complete, accurate, and properly archived.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer service.
