Key Position Details: 0.8 FTE (64 hours every two-week pay period) 8-hour, day/evening shifts No weekends The Trauma & Stroke Program Coordinator is responsible for maintaining hospital accreditation and compliance for trauma and stroke certifications. Reporting to the Emergency Department Manager, this role combines trauma and stroke program coordination and oversight to streamline responsibilities and optimize resources. Key duties include: Overseeing trauma and stroke case reviews and logs Analyze and assess programs for clinical effectiveness and desired outcomes for patients. Observing hospital program performance and providing education to teams across the hospital. Providing real-time feedback to hospital care teams for process improvement Facilitating patient and family rounding and community education outreach Supporting onboarding and handoff for trauma programming Ensuring continued compliance with certification requirements Leading site designation work and recertification visits. May coordinate discharge and post-hospitalization needs for patients. May participate in the development and implementation of clinical and patient standards and pathways. May do consultation with other disciplines, and coordinate multidisciplinary activities to maximize patient outcomes and satisfaction. Facilitates strategic, quality and operational planning for a department, program or population. Supports organizational performance improvement. Collaborates to develop and implement department plans. Provides leadership for compliance with regulatory standards, professional practice guidelines and standards. Leads the implementation of protocols and guidelines. Coordinates development and revision of policies and procedures. Coordinates and evaluates safety and emergency preparedness plans. Participates in councils and committees in a collaborative governance structure. Facilitates gathering and analysis of data and information for identification of issues and evaluation of progress. Supports performance improvement teams by developing project plans, supporting improvement trials, and monitoring critical success factors. May act as a resource in the utilization review process to optimize documentation. May work with external agencies and providers to enhance patient care. Provides leadership for orientation and staff development programs. Leads individuals and teams to design, implement, and evaluate orientation programs.
