About The Position

Join a high-acuity Trauma Step-Down/PCU team at a large Gulf Coast hospital with Level II trauma services and award-winning specialties. You’ll care for complex post-trauma and progressive-care patients, build advanced telemetry and step-down skills, and have a defined cross-training path into ICU .

Requirements

Active Florida RN (or compact; obtain active FL within 60 days if compact).
1+ year RN experience ( acute care required ).
AHA/ARC BLS at start; ACLS within 6 months .
ASN/ADN or Nursing Diploma (BSN preferred).
Able to meet role’s physical demands (frequent standing/bending; safe handling up to ~50 lbs).
Onsite interview mandatory.

Nice To Haves

LTACH, Home Health, or Rehab backgrounds with strong progressive-care readiness and acute transition skills.

Responsibilities

Perform focused assessments; continuous monitoring with rapid recognition/escalation of status changes.
Administer meds and therapies safely; document responses and adverse events precisely.
Coordinate diagnostics/consults; partner on throughput, discharge readiness, and readmission reduction .
Educate patients/families on disease processes, post-trauma expectations, meds, and follow-up.
Uphold safety bundles (falls, infection prevention) and crisp SBAR handoffs; contribute to unit PI.
