About The Position

Under the supervision of the Trauma Program Manager establishes and maintains efficient operations of the Trauma Registry to meet the Pennsylvania Trauma System Foundation and other data collection and other reporting requirements. He/she provides additional support to the Trauma Program through other delegated coordination and secretarial responsibilities. Job Description Essential Functions Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Abstracts data from the medical record for data collection Performs data entry and verification function for the Trauma Registrar according to established deadlines and written procedures to assure timeliness and accuracy of database. Identifies trauma cases, using established criteria by retrieving appropriate information for inclusion into trauma registry Maintains accurate records to ensure complete and organized trauma database. Compiles and submits designated reports and summaries according to established deadlines and to assist in efficient and effective program operation Provides staff assistance to Program Manager for effective and efficient program operations and to meet regulatory body requirements. Obtain/maintain education required by Pennsylvania Trauma System Foundation Standards of Accreditation Attend state and national meetings as requested

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Post high school training in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and clinical/therapeutic modalities.
  • Microsoft Office, including Excel

Nice To Haves

  • ICD 10-CM coding preferred.
  • RHIA, RHIT or CSTR or equivalent in training/experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of ICD10-CM coding and AIS scoring preferred
  • Database experience preferred
  • CSTR/CAISS certification preferred.

Responsibilities
