About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse leader to help guide and advance our Level III Trauma Program, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, and continuous performance improvement. Position Overview Working collaboratively with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program leadership, the Trauma Program Manager oversees the day-to-day operations, quality initiatives, and strategic development of the trauma program. This role blends hands-on clinical involvement, program oversight, and interdisciplinary leadership while ensuring compliance with Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation (PTSF) standards. Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing for registered nursing
  • BSN Required
  • 5 years' experience clinical nursing care required
  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located or eligible for State Board Licensure.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hir
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
  • Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the Level III Trauma Program, ensuring alignment with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Coordinate trauma services across disciplines, fostering strong collaboration with physicians, nurses, and hospital leadership.
  • Support strategic planning initiatives across clinical care, education, research, and program growth.
  • Direct trauma data abstraction, concurrent chart review, and quality monitoring processes.
  • Oversee performance improvement activities, including morbidity and mortality review, quality indicators, and practice guideline compliance.
  • Integrate trauma quality initiatives with the hospital-wide quality program and analyze trends to drive improvement.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with PTSF standards and lead preparation for surveys and accreditation reviews.
  • Maintain trauma practitioner credentialing data and oversee required documentation and reporting.
  • Actively participate in the clinical care of trauma patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate trauma care delivery.
  • Serve on internal, regional, state, or national trauma-related committees as requested.
  • Recruit, orient, mentor, and evaluate trauma program staff.
  • Manage departmental resources, including staffing, budgeting, and physical assets.
  • Foster a professional, supportive work environment that promotes engagement, growth, and work-life balance.
  • Support education and mentorship of nursing staff related to trauma care and process improvement.
  • Participate in scholarly activities such as publications, abstracts, and conference presentations.
