About The Position

Join a high-acuity Trauma Ortho/Neuro Med-Surg team at a 380+ bed Level II Trauma Center with award-winning specialty services. You’ll deliver complex post-op care for joints/spine and neuro/trauma patients, coordinating closely with surgical, neuro, rehab, and ancillary teams to drive safe recoveries, outstanding education, and smooth discharges.

Requirements

Active Florida RN (or compact; obtain active FL within 60 days if compact).
1+ year acute-care RN experience .
BLS (AHA/ARC) at start; ACLS within 6 months .
ASN/ADN or Nursing Diploma (BSN preferred).
Able to meet role’s physical demands (safe patient/equipment handling up to ~50 lbs).
Onsite interview mandatory.

Nice To Haves

LTACH, Home Health, or Rehab backgrounds with strong ortho/neuro med-surg readiness and acute transition skills.

Responsibilities

Perform focused neuro and ortho assessments; complete neuro checks , maintain spine precautions , and manage traction/external fixators as ordered.
Manage drains, wound vacs, DVT prophylaxis, and multimodal post-op pain control (PCA/epidural/oral).
Mobilize early with PT/OT; implement fall-prevention and pressure-injury bundles.
Administer meds/therapies safely; document responses and escalate status changes promptly.
Coordinate diagnostics/consults; keep throughput and discharge readiness on track.
Educate patients/families on hip/knee/spine precautions, home equipment, anticoagulation safety, and follow-up.
