The position will serve trauma patients. Requirements

• ADN required; BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
• BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• ACLS – within 90 days of hire required
• PALS – within 90 days of hire required OR ENPC – upon hire required
• TNCC or ATCN – upon hire required
• 3-years Trauma/Surgical Intensive Care and/or Emergency Department related experience required

Responsibilities

• Quality/Performance Improvement:
• Engages staff to promote evidence based practices within the unit
• Monitors key performance indicators (KPI’s) and regulatory requirements for compliance.
• Evaluates the outcome of patient care, consults with others on the patient care team, and adjusts nursing care processes as needed to improve outcomes.
• Participates in policy development and mentors staff regarding policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Incorporates THR philosophy in working with peers, and other members of the health care team. Partners with physicians to advance physician engagement.
• Demonstrates accountability and responsibility by independently completing projects/assignments on time.
