Requirements

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in emergency or critical care nursing.
  • Current Missouri or Compact RN license required.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Associate's degree in Nursing required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data abstraction, quality improvement, or program coordination preferred.
  • Familiarity with stroke registry systems (e.g., Get With The Guidelines-Stroke) is highly desirable.
  • Certification in Stroke Nursing preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related healthcare field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of the hospital's Trauma and Stroke Program and provide support for dept manager, ensuring alignment with best practice guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for trauma and stroke program accreditation, audits, and performance reviews.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze trauma and stroke data; prepare reports and dashboards to monitor performance metrics (e.g., door-to-needle time, NIHSS documentation, dysphagia screening compliance).
  • Lead and facilitate the Trauma and Stroke Committee, including agenda preparation, minutes, and follow-up on action items
  • Collaborate with Emergency Department, Radiology, and Nursing teams to optimize stroke alert workflows and response times.
  • Develop and deliver trauma and stroke-related education and training for staff, patients, and the community.
  • Monitor compliance with core measures and clinical pathways; identify gaps and implement performance improvement projects.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current trauma and stroke care standards and participate in relevant professional organizations or conferences.
  • Support public education and outreach activities related to trauma and stroke prevention and awareness.
  • Participate in call or after-hours responsibilities related to trauma and stroke alerts as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor for the betterment of patient care.
