A Summer Intern in the Transportation Department at BNSF Railway provides students with a hands-on immersion into the operational core of rail transportation, covering areas like logistics, scheduling, and safety management. Throughout the internship, participants will gain practical experience and deepen their understanding of BNSF's dedication to efficient and sustainable transportation services. By working closely with experienced professionals on real-world projects, interns will enhance their skills and knowledge, setting a solid foundation for a potential career in the transportation industry. Successful Interns may be hired as full-time Management Trainees upon graduation. This is a full-time (40hrs/wk) position in a 24x7 operations environment , subject to on-call, overtime, nights, alternating shifts, weekends, and holidays. Travel and Relocation is required for the summer, must be flexible with their location, as they could be moved depending on business needs. Must have reliable transportation to and from work. Training will start with a two-day orientation in Fort Worth, Texas, offering a company overview and networking with leaders, followed by support on ongoing projects and practical field training at an assigned location.
