About The Position

As a partner in building brighter futures for youth and their families, your role will be to provide direct care, transportation and other related technical and clinical support activities that align with The Village Network’s Mission, Vision & Values.

Requirements

  • Ability to use a computer; familiarity with Word and Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Must be 25 years of age or older, have completed a high school education/GED
  • Completion of 24 hours of training each year in compliance with ODJFS/ODHS requirements (ex. CPR/First Aid, CPI, Sexual Harassment, Diversity, Blood-Borne Pathogens, Conflict Management).
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License and maintains a driving record that allows that individual to be insurable with the insurance company providing The Village Network with vehicle insurance. In addition, constant travel is necessary.
  • Ability to comply with The Village Network requirements for using restraints including sufficient strength and completion of extensive training.
  • Ability to handle bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, reaching, and walking for periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds independently.
  • Must be able to remain alert to problems, needs or emergencies that might arise on any shift, maintaining a safe environment for the clients.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all levels or personnel, internal and external to the company.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years experience working with difficult children desired.

Responsibilities

  • Transport and supervise adolescents to and from day treatment.
  • Assists with visitations, greets The Village Network guests, meets with parents, checks residents for contraband, helps to evaluate child’s emotional and physical needs before, during, and after visitations.
  • Takes part in the supervision and behavioral management of youth during, but not limited to, lunch time, free time, and group interaction time.
  • Performs other duties as required including, but not limited to providing crisis intervention, passive restraint, charting behavior of youth, and attending team meetings.
