About The Position

The Logistics Sales Manager will be responsible for establishing and leading a new transportation sales division from the ground up. This includes designing operational processes, implementing systems, and building a team to manage freight across multiple modes, including LTL (Less-than-Truckload) and FTL (Full Truckload). The role will focus on developing customer relationships, driving revenue growth, and creating scalable solutions that support long-term success while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to design and implement a scalable sales structure, including recruiting, onboarding, and performance management for transportation sales teams
  • Ability to lead by example, set clear performance expectations, and foster a results-driven culture within a newly formed team
  • Skilled in negotiating complex transportation contracts and building long-term partnerships with shippers and carriers
  • Capable of balancing strategic growth initiatives with day-to-day sales execution in a fast-paced logistics environment
  • Proficient in leveraging TMS platforms and CRM tools to optimize sales workflows and improve customer engagement
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • Minimum 7 years of experience selling transportation services (LTL, FTL), with at least 3 years managing a sales team and driving revenue growth
  • Track record of exceeding sales targets, securing high-value accounts, and building high-performing teams in the logistics industry
  • Hands-on experience recruiting, training, and scaling a transportation sales team from the ground up, including setting KPIs and performance standards
  • Comprehensive knowledge of LTL and FTL pricing models, carrier networks, and regulatory requirements impacting transportation sales
  • Proficiency in implementing CRM systems and sales workflows to streamline prospecting, quoting, and account management
  • Exceptional ability to craft persuasive proposals, analyze market data for pricing strategies, and resolve customer challenges effectively
  • Adherence to all RK Safety, Quality, ISO and HR policies and standards

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement a go-to-market strategy for LTL and FTL services, including pricing models, target accounts, and regional growth plans
  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of sales professionals focused on transportation solutions
  • Develop sales processes and strategies to drive LTL and FTL service growth
  • Develop a pipeline of high-value shippers and secure long-term contracts through consultative selling and solution-based proposals
  • Negotiate pricing and service agreements with customers to maximize profitability
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and operational efficiency
  • Analyze freight market data and competitor pricing to adjust sales tactics and maintain a competitive edge in key lanes
  • Define KPIs for sales performance, customer acquisition, and margin targets; implement dashboards for real-time tracking and accountability
  • Ensure all sales commitments and customer agreements align with DOT, FMCSA, and applicable transportation regulations
