The Routing Supervisor position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the delivery fleet. Supervises all functions of routing to include creating routes, managing routes, calculating delivery routes, times of deliveries, and makes the necessary adjustments for drivers and customers. The Routing Supervisor ensures routing and software systems are up to date. The Routing Supervisor role requires strong attention to detail, process management skills, and budgeting. The Routing Supervisor will interact with drivers, sales, transportation, warehouse and customer service personnel. The Routing Supervisor functions as a leader and team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duties assigned to best serve the company. Supervise associate(s) to include but not limited to: staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution. Oversee the establishment of delivery routes, labor and transportation cost are within budgeted guidelines. Maintain compliance with Federal DOT guidelines while still maintaining an acceptable level of customer service, quality and satisfaction. Ensure all routing activities are leveraging the Roadnet application to ensure Delivery costs are held to company expected run rates year over year. Provide leadership for the strategic planning of new concepts and the establishment of routing procedures and schedules which allow for the optimum use of personnel and equipment while keeping a strong emphasis on driver safety. Work closely with Transportation Management to resolve driver route concerns by visiting geographical delivery areas and participating in driver work-with’s. Ensure all routing scenarios are designed to improve efficiency, delivery on-time, reduce delivery expense. Ensure Roadnet application routing maintenance is performed daily to ensure all locations have accurate, timely, and up-to-date information: o Standard Routes and Customer Delivery Requirements -Geo-Coding, delivery days, time windows, service time types, serive time overrides, account types, meal beaks - Route start times, pre/post trips, starting/ending depot, travel modes, color for mapping, assigned driver, equipment and DOT road checks o Plan Maintanence equipment with regards to costing, restrictions, and capacities Manage assets (equipment/inventiory/people) for continual improvement of finacial position, including the performance and delivery of costing, off-days, maintenance, scorecard, customer and KPI reporting on scheduled intervals. Leverge routing reports to monitor weekly and monthly trends. Implement necessary adjustments to ensure continuous improvement. Performs other related duties as assigned.
