About The Position

Are you a college student seeking a rewarding experience conducting research with a world-class engineering firm? The ARA Transportation Division (TD) is seeking paid research interns available to work part-time (20-30 hours per week) during the summer months. Please note, this is an on-site position in either Champaign, IL or Madison, WI. No relocation assistance will be provided. Under direct supervision, transportation research interns may perform any or all of the following tasks: Create client-focused memoranda and summary information. Help collect, prepare, and organize data and information on research or contracting activities in state departments of transportation (DOTs). Provide text to support proposal development. Prepare charts and preliminary analysis to support interviews with research and engineering stakeholders. Contribute to a literature review and desk scan on transportation engineering research efforts. Support other project tasks as necessary. Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher at an accredited U.S. college or university in one of the following areas: Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Construction Management Urban Planning Business Public Administration
  • Coursework in transportation-related topics preferred.
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
