About The Position

Due to being an in-plant position, the below referenced job duties have been provided by the client: JOB FUNCTION: This position has core responsibility to plan and tender QEM freight by way of the SAP Transportation Management (SAPTM) Transportation Management System (TMS). SAP is utilized for QEM Transportation Services Logistics administration, operations and management of shipment load planning and carrier freight tenders for cross-business unit shipment requirements. As a Transportation Planner for QEM Logistics, specific responsibilities will include: · Attain proficiency and expertise with the SAP TMS system for transportation planning. · Service internal business customers (supply chain management, customer service, production/operations personnel, etc.) with best-in-class logistics support. · Execute inbound, interplant and outbound transportation planning requests for various business units. · Tender shipments (ground modes) to carriers and communicate/engage carrier contacts. · Manage transportation events through SAP resulting from order/production change management to ensure manufacturing and customer satisfaction. · Support rating and billing discrepancies with carriers to resolve within SAP tender payment information in coordination with the Freight Payment Auditor team. · Enhance low cost and primary carrier utilization while maintaining business unit requirements for service and on time deliveries. · Develop and coordinate the tactical transportation plans for multiple manufacturing. · Proactively enhance, recommend and implement cost savings and/or service improvement programs. · Maintain performance reporting, incident tracking, and/or other transportation metrics as required. · Provides strategic and economic analysis to the transportation negotiation function for pre-bid and post-bid sourcing decisions to establish carrier networks. · Perform responsibilities focused on core hours M-F 8 AM to 5 PM; with occasional after-hours support as needed. Support GBS Planning weekend on-call responsibilities one weekend per month. REQUIREMENTS: Prefers BS/BA in business, supply chain, finance or economics or related field. Ability to work in protective clothing which may elevate body temperatures by several degrees Fahrenheit for periods of up to 15 minutes without a break. Ability to use multi-level stair towers and rung ladders unassisted. Ability to hear safety alarms and signals while wearing hearing protection. Ability to sit at desk and operate computer for extended periods of time. Ability to stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. Ability to see with visual acuity and distinguish between colors. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license. Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. on a regular basis is required and at times lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.

Requirements
