About The Position
WellTrans is seeking a Transportation Optimization Specialist to support high-volume non-emergency medical transportation scheduling. This role focuses on optimizing daily trip routing at scale using a combination of software tools, analytical judgment, and continuous process improvement. The ideal candidate thrives in complexity, understands transportation constraints, and sees automation opportunities where others see manual work.
Requirements
- 3–7 years in routing, logistics, or transportation scheduling
- Experience handling thousands of daily transactions (not dozens)
- Familiarity with: o Route optimization concepts o Time-window constraints o Capacity planning o Geographic clustering
- High comfort with Excel
Nice To Haves
- PowerBI experience desirable, as is any experience in algorithm analysis
- Experience with routing software, TMS, or NEMT platforms a big plus
- Calm under pressure; thinks in systems, not emergencies
Responsibilities
- Optimize daily routing for 5,000–9,000 NEMT trips
- Configure and refine routing logic and scheduling rules
- Resolve exceptions and last-minute changes efficiently
- Collaborate with operations and technology teams
- Identify and implement routing automation improvements
