Position Summary In your role as a Logistics Transportation Manager you'll be responsible organizing trucking and air freight operations, vendor management, and dangerous goods compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years experience in logistics and transportation management experience, including trucking and air freight, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or vendor-management role.
  • Proven success in vendor management, RFP processes, and contract negotiation.
  • Strong background in KPI development, tracking, and reporting.
  • Valid certifications in: DOT HAZMAT Shipping, IATA Dangerous Goods, IMDG Dangerous Goods
  • Expertise in Lean Six Sigma, preferably Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros), PowerPoint (presentations), and Word (reporting/documentation).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day transportation operations supporting inter-site, inbound, and outbound material movements, ensuring safety, compliance, and on-time execution.
  • Manage performance of trucking carriers and third-party transportation providers, holding vendors accountable to SLAs and KPIs.
  • Develop, track, and report transportation KPIs related to cost, delivery performance, safety, and compliance.
  • Lead transportation RFPs and manage contract negotiations to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service.
  • Maintain transportation schedules to support production, warehouse operations, and customer requirements.
  • Oversee onsite logistics equipment and vehicle operations, ensuring proper maintenance, regulatory compliance, and safe use.
  • Ensure compliance with hazardous materials and dangerous goods regulations (DOT, IATA, IMDG) and maintain required certifications.
  • Conduct audits and investigations related to transportation, equipment, and compliance issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Partner with shipping, receiving, procurement, and site leadership to align transportation and logistics operations across sites.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma and data-driven analysis.
