About The Position
Western State Hospital is seeking a full time Transportation Operator II to provide transportation services to Western State Hospital (WSH) and the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents (CCCA). This position will be responsible for the delivery of laundry, food, trash carts and supplies to multiple facilities and will provide transportation services for patients as needed.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Valid Operator’s License/Virginia Driver's License with safe driving record
- CDL with safe driving record

- Previous experience working in a healthcare facility

Responsibilities
- Deliver food carts to various units and CCCA and load food into Retherm units and return empty carts to kitchen
- Remove soiled linens from units and take to the laundry for processing
- Remove trash from the units and take to the dumpster for disposal
- Pick up patient property from the units and Admissions Office and take to Patient Property for storage
- Transport patients and staff to medical appointments
- Clean and sanitize equipment and vehicles on a routine basis
- Assist with snow and ice removal
