About The Position

The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) is hiring seasonal Transportation Operations Technicians to support highway maintenance and winter operations in Londonderry. This hands-on role involves a variety of tasks that keep Vermont’s roads safe and reliable, including repairing guardrails, patching pavement, ditching, clearing brush, and picking up litter. Seasonal staff also play a critical role in plowing and salting during winter weather events. Requirements

One (1) year of work experience in construction, equipment operation, or related manual labor INCLUDING EITHER one season of operating a snowplow with wings OR six (6) months of operating medium or heavy equipment, such as graders, excavators, and backhoes.
Upon successful completion of original probation as a Transportation Operations Technician I AND possession of a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with tanker endorsement.
A Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
An incumbent must live within reasonable proximity of assigned workstation.
Possession of a Class A Commercial Driver's License with Tanker Endorsement is required within the first six months of employment.
An incumbent must complete all VTTC required coursework within one (1) year or be enrolled.
