About The Position

The Agency of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Operations Technician I. This position is responsible for various tasks related to highway maintenance, such as repairing guardrails, cutting trees/brush, patching roads, picking litter, ditching, and more. In the winter months, this position will also assist with plowing and salting, and overtime may be required. Requirements

  • No education or experience required.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • An incumbent must live within reasonable proximity of assigned workstation.
  • Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required for the successful completion of original probation.
  • An incumbent must complete all VTTC required coursework within six (6) months or be enrolled.
