About The Position

The Presidio Trust is seeking a Transportation Operations Specialist to join its Planning and Compliance Department. The Presidio Trust is an innovative federal agency responsible for preserving and sharing the Presidioa 1,500-acre national park site at the Golden Gate that blends rich history, cultural significance, and extraordinary natural beauty. Once a military post under three flags and the ancestral homeland of the Ramaytush Ohlone, the Presidio is now one of the most biologically diverse parks in the nation and a vibrant destination with beaches, museums, trails, homes, and workplaces. Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Transportation Operations Specialist manages and coordinates key components of the Trusts transportation operations, including the Presidio GO shuttle system, parking management program, and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) initiatives supporting the mission of the Presidio Trust. The role serves as the park-wide TDM Coordinator pursuant to the Presidio Trust Management Plan and provides technical and analytical recommendations to management regarding service levels, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and financial sustainability. Our ideal candidate has a strong understanding of transportation operations and is committed to delivering exceptional customer service. This is a full-time position with benefits and a starting pay range of $115,606 to $131,792, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in transportation, urban planning, civil engineering, environmental studies, geography, or other related field from an accredited university.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in transportation operations, transportation planning, or transportation demand management (a graduate degree in one of the referenced fields may substitute for one year of experience).
  • Experience coordinating service contracts and monitoring contractor performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze operational data and prepare written recommendations.
  • Demonstrated skill in oral and written communications, including public speaking, customer service, and community outreach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage the park-wide parking management program serving Presidio tenants and visitors.
  • Develop recommendations for parking regulations, enforcement protocols, and periodic fee adjustments consistent with established policy and financial objectives.
  • Monitor parking utilization, revenue performance, and customer feedback; conduct analysis to make recommendations and inform management decisions.
  • Coordinate installation and maintenance of parking equipment, signage, and layout modifications.
  • Coordinate parking enforcement activities with contractors.
  • Manage the Trusts parking management contracts, including oversight of revenue control, staffing, and other contractual obligations.
  • Administer the day-to-day operations of the Presidio GO shuttle system.
  • Oversee contractor performance of operations and maintenance activities, ensuring service reliability, safety compliance and customer service standards.
  • Plan, evaluate and implement route and schedule adjustments based on ridership data, operational metrics and customer feedback.
  • Maintain and update GTFS data and other related transit information for website and mobile applications.
  • Schedule charter service for Presidio community programs.
  • Track ridership trends and service performance metrics.
  • Assist with fleet management and capital replacement planning.
  • Support administration of grant and tenant funding agreements.
  • Oversee contracted operation and maintenance of Presidio bus charging station.
  • Develop and administer the Trusts Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program designed to reduce single occupancy vehicle trips and support sustainability goals.
  • Conduct employee, tenant, resident and Presidio GO passenger travel behavior surveys; analyze results and prepare summary reports and recommendations.
  • Coordinate and monitor program tenant participation in TDM programs, and work with service providers (e.g., Emergency Ride Home and regional carpool matching services).
  • Plan and host TDM outreach events (e.g., Bike to Wherever Day) and provide commute assistance for Presidio employees and tenants.
  • Manage related mobile transportation operations programs, including bike storage, carshare, bikeshare, and walking programs.
  • Coordinate with other transit providers, and support public information programs
  • Respond to public and tenant inquiries about transportation and parking at the Presidio.
  • Track performance metrics and prepare program evaluations.
  • Ensure assigned projects and programs adhere to approved budgets and schedules.
  • Track expenditures and support preparation of annual operating and capital budget projections.
  • Maintain project schedules and support development of master project schedule.
  • Manage transportation-related contractors, including reviews of contractor generated invoices, cost proposals, and schedules.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
