About The Position

Position Summary We need Port Dispatchers for Sunday - Thursday shift! The Transportation Operations Specialist is responsible for coordinating shipments according to customer instructions (SOP’s) and ensure compliance with DOT regulations and established internal policies and guidelines. Position Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assist with the hire of 3rd party carriers to execute both pick-ups and deliveries. Receive and process work orders received from LS operations team / system. Help to manage chassis agreements with each provider to ensure maximum profitability, in addition to providing chassis provider pre-alerts. Maintain carrier database with respect to providers, rates, expiration dates. Act as the first contact for carrier rate disputes Develop and maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Dispatch drivers for shipment pick-ups and deliveries. Know and understand all drayage needs by region for customer base both import and export. Prioritize time sensitive cargo. Notify drivers of pick-up and delivery assignments. Expedite cargo as needed to meet customer requirements both during and after work hours as needed. Communicate, send status updates as needed to/from operations teams. Assist with corporate goals to eliminate as much risk (cost exposure) as possible (i.e., Reduce detention, storage and per diem charges). LS1A Qualifications Education/Experience High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 3 years of experience in drayage dispatch or supply chain experience. 2 years of drayage dispatch/planning experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have experience in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat is preferred. Ability to quickly learn new software to include our POS, and various other programs as they become necessary. Position Hiring Range The hiring pay range provides a good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage that Living Spaces expects to pay for the position upon hire. Pay will be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to: applicant's education, relevant work experience, knowledge, applicable and relevant skills and abilities, market demand, Company budget, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Living Spaces reserves the right to modify this page at any time. Compensation: $23.85 - $31.00 Overtime pay is available for eligible, non-exempt Team Members. Reimbursement for expenses as required by applicable law and Company policy. Retail, Guest Services and Distribution Center Team Members are eligible to receive team bonus based on meeting specific goals and KPI's. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
