About The Position

The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating maintenance and repair activities for Class A/B commercial vehicles to ensure fleet safety, reliability, and compliance with DOT and company standards. This role acts as the central point of communication between drivers, technicians, vendors, and management to minimize downtime and control maintenance costs. Some of your duties may include: Schedule, track, and coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs for Class A trucks and trailers Communicate with drivers regarding reported defects, breakdowns, and maintenance needs Open, monitor, and close work orders, ensuring accurate documentation Coordinate repairs with internal technicians and external vendors Ensure all maintenance activities comply with DOT, FMCSA, and company safety standards Track vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs) and ensure timely resolution of defects Maintain accurate maintenance records for audits and regulatory compliance Monitor parts inventory and coordinate ordering as needed Track vehicle downtime and assist in improving fleet availability Review repair estimates and invoices for accuracy and cost control Assist with warranty claims and vendor negotiations when applicable Things you need to be able to do: Experience in fleet maintenance coordination, dispatch, or heavy-duty trucking operations preferred Working knowledge of Class A commercial vehicles, trailers, and diesel systems Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA regulations and preventive maintenance programs Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent communication skills with drivers, technicians, and vendors Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access). Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to sit and process data for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in seasonal weather conditions. Weekend availability as needed. Things that are a plus: Previous maintenance preferred; previous management experience a must. Previous CDL license holder is a plus. 2 years of experience in fleet services and/or maintenance repair facility experience High School Diploma or Equivalent.
