About The Position

VHB's Highway and Structural Design teams are looking for a talented Transportation Intern to join our South Portland, ME office! This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to independently perform multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with coworkers.
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail.
  • A strong work ethic and a desire to learn and achieve.
  • Familiarity with transportation and highway engineering principles and resources.
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree in civil engineering or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using CAD software (AutoCAD/Civil3D) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with VHB staff, clients, and consultants to advance projects in a timely manner.
  • Assists in the development of transportation design plans and specifications.
  • Prepares cost estimates for various projects.
  • Utilizes CAD software to complete key deliverables for our design team.
