About The Position

Oversee daily operations to include all management and scheduling of the visitation/ family support and transportation staff. Impartially observe the contact between non-residential parent/guardian and child(ren) and document observations. Facilitate, intervene and terminate a visit, as necessary. Maintain appropriate and ongoing communication with attorneys, Guardian Ad Litem, courts and other concerned parties to oversee effective and efficient service delivery through collaboration. Oversee that visit rooms are neatly maintained and safe for visits. Facilitate and assist with orientation of families in visitation center; assist with procedures for visits prior to initial visitation. Set up a visitation plan with each family utilizing the center. Set visitation schedules for families. Directly transport or arrange for transportation of clients to visitations. Assist in program data collection and data entry to maintain the appropriate records. Complete monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required. Attend court hearings and dispositions as requested and serve as record custodian for visits supervised. Assist with initial and ongoing training for team members, utilizing a team approach in skill building for work with at-risk clients. Assist with individual staffings that address case reviews with the supervisor. Report incidents and accidents within required timeframes to keep with organization policy and procedures. Assist with special events/projects that enhance the operations of the visitation center. Overseeing the daily maintenance of vehicles in the fleet. Conducting vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness. Assigning vehicle repair and maintenance duties. Monitoring driver qualifications and training. Keeping and transmitting complete and accurate records for each vehicle in the fleet, and for cargo transported. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, required.
  • Florida Driver’s License within 30 days from hire with daily access to a reliable and insured vehicle, required.
  • Five (5) years of experience in human services or child welfare programs, including at least one (2) year in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Five years of previously supervised work experience in child welfare related field.
  • Physical required prior to hire; paid by agency
  • Expertise with the Florida Child Welfare Practice Model and knowledgeable in Child Welfare electronic system of record (FSFN or CCWIS).
  • Possess strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule as required by the department, including nights and weekends.
  • Possess a current Background Clearance Screening Letter as required by DCF.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare’s vehicle insurance is required;
  • The ability to identify and evaluate an individual’s strengths, barriers, problems, and needs for the development of a Wellness and Recovery Plan
  • The ability to write assessments, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other consumer related data
  • Knowledge of the inter-relationship among substance use, mental health, and primary care disorders
  • Knowledge and application of developmental theories
  • The ability to evaluate the impact of substance use and mental health problems on the consumer’s functioning in major life area
  • The ability to coordinate and integrate multiple services, as well as interface and communicate with internal and external providers
  • The ability to provide information to individuals and families concerning alcohol or other drug abuse, mental health problems, and the available services and resources
  • The ability to identify the needs of a consumer that cannot be met by the agency and to assist the consumer/family to utilize the support systems and community resources available
  • The ability to identify crises when they surface; mitigate or resolve the immediate problem; and de-escalate the situation, including the ability to develop Safety Plans, as needed
  • The ability to assess the individual’s growth and development relative to normative development for his/her chronological age, including physical, emotional, cognitive, educational, and social development
