By joining our Traffic & Engineering Permits Unit as a Transportation Engineering Technologist III in Hopkins County, you’ll have the opportunity to oversee activities related to traffic signs and traffic control devices, process and complete delivery orders for materials for traffic signs and signals. Summary of Responsibilities: Use technical expertise on addressing problems with traffic signs and control devises, speed studies, traffic impact study review. Monitor project to ensure crew coordination is fulfilled and safe practices are being followed Organize and conduct meetings with contractors and cabinet officials Maintain, prepare and review engineering documents. Prepare and process delivery orders for traffic signs and traffic control device materials. Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in engineering technology, construction management, engineering science, engineering mechanics, computer science, data science, geology, earth science, industrial technology, industrial drafting, design technology or construction technology. OR Graduate with an associate's degree in Engineering Technology with completion of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Civil Engineering Technology Scholarship Program.
  • Four years of engineering-related experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification.
  • Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
  • Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possess and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
