WSP is seeking a Transportation Engineering Technician (TET) I/II Construction Inspector to join our Construction Management team out of our Columbia, MD office. The desired candidate will serve as a Construction Inspector to support our Construction Management and Inspection (CMI) services related to Road and Bridge Projects at State Highway Administration (SHA) District 4 (Baltimore and Harford Counties, MD). Your Impact Roles and Responsibilities: Provide daily site inspections of contractors’ work on highway, bridge, structural steel repairs, welding, painting, electrical, environmental or other complex construction projects to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications and maintain up-to-date project records. Conduct routine field tests on construction materials such as slump test, air content test, and compaction tests. Measure and record material placed for periodic contractor payments. Prepare daily inspection reports and/or logs that describe number of employees on a job site, amount of work performed, and materials used, weather conditions, accidents on the job site and equipment use. Work in various weather conditions and terrains and will be available nights and weekends as needed. Work effectively with others. Understand and follow instructions. Measure and record pay items. Communicate conditions and field conflicts/changes to Owner. Work closely with others team members, along with personnel from utilities, state, local, and federal agencies. Demonstrate independent and effective problem solving/decision making.
