Transportation Engineering Internship
About The Position
Kleinfelder's Design team is seeking a Transportation Engineer Intern in their Pittsburgh, PA office. The internship is for students studying civil engineering with a focus on Highway or Bridge Design. Kleinfelder's collaborative Design Services create synergy across multiple disciplines, including bridge and structural engineering, civil, electrical, mechanical, and process engineering. The ideal Intern candidate will be able to follow proper procedures, prepare plans using CAD software, perform accurate computations, and build strong working relationships with coworkers. Requirements
- Working towards a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in civil engineering
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenRoads, OpenBridge and Civil 3D
Nice To Haves
- Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certificate
Responsibilities
- Continuously interact with and learn from junior and senior level technical staff
- Prepare evaluations, calculations, reports, drawings and specifications
- Assist with field assignments including inspections and observations
- Contribute to writing technical reports, correspondence and proposals
- Assist with the administration and coordination of various projects
