Transportation Engineering Internship
About The Position
Kleinfelder's Design team is seeking a Transportation Engineer Intern for their Pittsburgh, PA office. The company, established in 1961, provides engineering, scientific, and construction solutions across various infrastructure sectors including transportation, water, and energy. They emphasize a collaborative, cross-disciplinary approach. The internship is geared towards civil engineering students focusing on Highway or Bridge Design. The ideal candidate will be proficient in following procedures, preparing plans using CAD software, performing accurate computations, and building strong working relationships. Requirements
- Working towards a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in civil engineering required.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenRoads, OpenBridge and Civil 3D.
- Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.
Nice To Haves
- Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certificate a plus.
Responsibilities
- Continuously interact with and learn from junior and senior level technical staff.
- Prepare evaluations, calculations, reports, drawings and specifications.
- Assist with field assignments including inspections and observations.
- Contribute to writing technical reports, correspondence and proposals
- Assist with the administration and coordination of various projects.
