Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible. Job Description: Parsons is now hiring for a Transportation Engineering Intern to join our Centreville, VA team starting either this summer 2026 ! In this role you will have opportunity to work directly with our world-class transportation team on major regional, large scale engineering projects and gain invaluable experience in transportation infrastructure! This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in civil engineering, or related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills
  • Eager to learn, self-motivated, and flexible
  • Excellent organizational and management skills
  • Working knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCAD and Microstation is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Complete assignments for development of construction documents including drawings, specifications and estimates.
  • Assist with development of geometric design of highways and roads including horizontal and vertical geometry, cross sections, super-elevations diagrams, gore details, vertical clearance calculations and grading plans.
  • May perform material quantity takeoffs, estimates and surveys.
  • Use design software and CAE/CAD applications to implement project designs
  • Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and other Engineers working on the same project.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
