Requirements

  • Completion of prior coursework in transportation or structural engineering.
  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Interest in and ability to work on multiple roadway and highway projects simultaneously.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, CAD software (MicroStation preferred), and a solid understanding of industry standards and applicable engineering software.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Prior internship experience.

Responsibilities

  • Developing creative and innovative solutions for complex roadway or highway engineering challenges, selecting the most efficient and cost-effective methods to achieve objectives.
  • Ensuring designs comply with Federal, State, and local agency requirements, as well as accepted industry practices and procedures.
  • Preparing specifications, estimates, quantity calculations, technical reports, and detailed engineering analyses.
  • Reviewing supplier drawing submittals and conducting technical bid analyses.
  • Preparing and issuing specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
  • Contributing as part of a project or organizational team, or serving as a design engineer for intermediate to large-scale projects.
