About The Position

Under the guidance of senior-level Transportation and Civil Engineers, the Transportation Engineering Intern supports the team with basic design, documentation, and field tasks related to roadway and infrastructure projects. This role provides hands-on exposure to transportation engineering while allowing interns to apply classroom knowledge in a professional consulting environment.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Junior or Senior level students are preferred
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office preferred
• Basic understanding of civil engineering concepts and interest in transportation projects
• Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively in a team environment

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to Civil 3D or MicroStation is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist with drafting and design support using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation
• Support basic roadway and site design tasks such as layouts, profiles, and quantity takeoffs
• Participate in site visits, field observations, and documentation of existing conditions
• Assist with data entry, spreadsheets, and project documentation
• Support plan reviews, permitting tasks, and general project coordination
• Attend project meetings and assist the project team as needed
