About The Position

This position will be within the District 7 Capital Programs Department\: specifically, the in-house Roadway Engineering team at the District Headquarters in Sidney, OH. Working under the District Roadway Design Engineer · You will review plans as a subject matter expert for maintenance of traffic and traffic control. · You will provide direction and comments to project managers, designers, and other project staff . · You will perform site visits to collect information or troubleshoot issues . · You will perform drafting/CADD as the program necessitates .

Requirements

Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors
Valid Driver's License Required to operate state vehicle.
All bargaining unit and exempt new hires to ODOT must serve a one-year probationary period.
The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
An individual assessment of an applicant's prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.
This position is overtime exempt based on FLSA Standards.
If this position is filled internally, the wage rate will be determined in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code.
This position has been designated as a Career Professional position per the Ohio Revised Code 5501.20.
Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as group or project leader providing work direction & training to engineering technicians &/or lower-level engineers or 12 mos. exp. in conducting engineering related research (i.e., conducting engineering related research only applies to staff specialist positions); if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license.
-Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 2, 85642; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.
